Congressional Democrats Disclose Most Recent Set of Jeffrey Epstein Photographs as Justice Department Deadline Nears
Investigative Body
The Congressional oversight panel has made public a batch of approximately 70 photos obtained from the property of deceased found guilty sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of over 95,000 photographs the body has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It contains images of excerpts from the book Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and redacted images of female international passports.
This action arrives hours before the 19th of December deadline for the DOJ to release every records associated with its probe into Epstein.
"These new photographs pose additional inquiries about precisely what the Justice Department has in its holdings," stated the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.
What's in the Images Released
Several of the images released on Thursday depict Epstein conversing with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky on a private plane; Bill Gates standing next to a individual whose identity is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk across from Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.
Committee
These are the newest affluent, influential men to be seen in Epstein property photos released by the oversight panel - earlier released pictures also show US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, ex- US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.
Showing up in the images is does not constitute evidence of any misconduct, and several of the photographed figures have stated they were never involved in Epstein's unlawful actions.
In a statement released with the photograph release, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer explanatory details or timings for the pictures.
"Photos were picked to offer the American people with transparency into a typical cross-section of the images acquired from the holdings, and to provide insights into Epstein's associates and his profoundly disturbing actions," the announcement says.

The release also includes several photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita penned in dark ink across different parts of a woman's body, including her chest, feet, hipbone, and back. Lolita narrates the account of a minor who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.
One passage from the book inscribed across a female's upper body says, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to alight, at three, on the teeth".
Additionally, there are a number of photos of female identification and identification documents from nations worldwide, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Oversight Panel
The majority of the information on the documents, like identities and dates of birth, is obscured but the committee indicated in a statement that the travel documents are associated with "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were involved with".
An additional photo shows Epstein sitting at a desk closely in the company of three female figures whose identities have been obscured - a first has her hand on Epstein's torso under his clothing, and a second is leaning to examine a close-by device. Epstein seems to be aiding the third individual attach a bracelet.
Committee
Another image released is a capture of digital messages from an unidentified individual who states they have been sent "a number of girls" and are demanding "$$1,000 per girl".
Photograph Release Arrives Prior to DOJ Deadline
The panel has many thousands of photos in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "both graphic and everyday," its statement on Thursday noted.
The Congressional committee first legally compelled the estate of Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on accusations of human trafficking, in August.
The images and files the Epstein estate gave to the body are distinct from what is largely referred to "the Epstein files". That material are records under the DOJ's custody related to its independent inquiry into Epstein.
Pursuant to the recently passed law, which the President signed into law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to release its records. The extent of what is contained in the DOJ's documents is unclear, and it's probable that a significant portion of the material will be heavily obscured, comparable to House Oversight Committee materials
