Ukraine's drones have hit Russia's Bashneft refinery in the city of Ufa, situated some 1,400 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, causing detonations and a fire, as reported by a source in the Ukrainian SBU.

This represents the third Ukrainian security service far-reaching assault in Bashkortostan in the last month. Those operations show that there are no secure zones in the distant backlines of the Russia.

Ukrainian President Urges US President to Broker Ceasefire in the Conflict

In the Russian adjacent territory of the Belgorod region, a truck driver was fatally wounded by a Ukrainian strike, per local officials.

Energy Restoration Efforts in the Capital

Efforts carried on on Saturday to repair energy infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, after Russian attacks.

Power had been restored to over 800,000 citizens by the weekend and the major private energy company stated the key work to restore power was concluded though certain disruptions persisted.

Anti-Aircraft Operations and UAV Downings

Ukraine's anti-aircraft systems downed or disrupted fifty-four of seventy-eight UAVs from Russia launched targeting the country during the night, the air force reported on the weekend.

Russia's military authorities claimed it shot down forty-two Ukrainian drones over Russian territory.

Cuban Government Denies Accusations of Sending Forces to Ukraine

The Cuban government on the weekend refuted US assertions it has provided military personnel to engage in the Ukraine war, while affirming officials in Havana "do not have exact information about citizens of Cuba" engaged "independently" or "within the troops of either party".

The foreign ministry in Havana announced 26 Cuban citizens had been convicted to incarceration ranging from five to 14 years for mercenary activity since last September when information spread of individuals being dispatched to the front in Ukraine.

I Want to Live Initiative Discloses Details on Cuban Recruitment

I Want to Live, a state project that encourages opposing fighters to lay down arms, reported in May: "We have confirmed the personal data of over a thousand Cuban nationals who signed contracts with the Moscow's troops in 2023-2024."

The Cuban foreign ministry commented of Cubans who might be engaged: "There is no doubt that not a single one has the backing, allegiance, or authorization of the Cuban state for their involvement."
