The City boss confessed feeling "shame" following an exchange with a camera operator in the wake of the Citizens' loss at Newcastle this past weekend.

At full time, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and had heated discussions with the referee, Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, and also touched the broadcast crew's equipment.

"I apologised," the manager remarked. "I feel embarrassed, ashamed, looking back. It's not acceptable. I immediately apologized to the cameraman. I am who I am. With a thousand matches under my belt I'm far from perfect, errors happen."

Guardiola would not be concerned should a rival coach spoke to his players right after the final whistle. "Not if you talk with respect as I do, it's fine," he said, before referencing Barrott. "The referee was involved for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, constantly. Goodness, very much so."

Controversial Decisions

The team felt aggrieved that Barrott or the VAR did not award City a penalty on a Schär tackle against Foden, and doubted if Guimarães was offside on Barnes' goal Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Pictures published later indicate the Brazilian was onside.

Next Big Match

He will manage his century in Europe against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. "That's impressive, showing we compete we have been there," he commented.

The club has ten points after four games in the group, and Leverkusen hold five.
