The Comedy Series Brassic Calls it a Day with Tarantino-Inspired Last Episode
The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of likable chancers causing chaos in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the finale to be a nostalgic highlight reel of alcohol, substances, and playful theft. But, the vibes are distinctly darker as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the gang hole up in a pub with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment seemingly influenced by Quentin Tarantino.

A particularly affecting episode intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a more serious storyline focusing on the character Tristan, whose actions lead to a fraternal intervention.

The journey has been lengthy. But the second-to-last episode of this initially sluggish but ultimately compelling phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. Things are also looking up for Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
