9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Creator Vivienne Medrano's boldly transgressive mature musical-comedy series, which sprang from a fan-funded short, fully hit its stride in its second installment. Following the climactic revelations of season 1, the narrative expands significantly, following the ambitious TV demon Vox as he takes control of the situation, sparking a series of ever-more explosive conflicts that naturally culminate in elaborate song.

Although it might not have a one breakout hit on the level of season one's "iconic tune," that's because everything in season 2 being more ambitious. The fight sequences, character arcs, and above all the score and songs are all more sophisticated. The story advances the overarching plot forward while providing plenty of weird, unhinged, and ultimately entertaining fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

Following the acclaimed Netflix series, this series had immense expectations. After well-documented production issues, the final product demonstrates it was worthy of the effort. The plot centers on Matt Murdock after his secret identity as Daredevil is exposed, making him a target to foes from his history and present in a refreshed take of his familiar setting.

The first episode is explosive, evoking the intense feeling audiences loved from the original series. While the middle episodes explore certain new narrative ground, the first season concludes on a strong note, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating a follow-up installment.

7. Common Side Effects

A unexpected 2025 gem, this series is essentially a crime saga with a sensibility of King of the Hill. Created by Joe Bennett and comedy Steve Hely, it follows the saga of a mild-mannered mycologist who finds a curative fungus and soon finds himself pursued by forces including ruthless Big Pharma executives to government agents.

Despite being a spoof, the narrative unfolds with the serious intensity of a classic paranoia film. Accentuated by hallucinogenic visuals and an eerie score, the plot explores deeper mysteries about the substance's full capabilities. It's a smart, visually striking, and utterly compelling ten-episode season.

6. Fallout Season 2

The hit series of the popular video game franchise returned with a new season of episodes that deepened its epic mystery and broadened its post-apocalyptic setting. While it ventures toward the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is far from a straight retelling of that game; rather, it continues to examine themes of authority and autonomy.

It skillfully juggles several storylines and points of view, from the protagonist's quest for justice to Maximus's reckoning with the ideology of the Brotherhood of Steel. The result is a deeply layered and wholly absorbing addition to the expanding wasteland saga.

5. Invincible Season 3

This visceral and emotionally charged animated series keeps its winning momentum in its third outing.
