Thousands Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the area, producing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Impact
Residents observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

During the peak on yesterday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
