UK Culture Secretary to Convene Meeting on Maccabi Tel Aviv Fan Ban
The law enforcement official from the West Midlands has requested an immediate review of the ruling to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from attending the forthcoming match.
Simon Foster, who supervises the force, explains that this appeal aims to determine whether the prohibition is suitable, necessary, warranted, sensible, and a proportionate step to accomplish a legitimate aim.
"That should involve evaluation of every and any appropriate, other choices," the official adds.
He has also requested to examine the written decision and recommendation from the advisory group, along with the law enforcement evaluation.
He stresses, however, that the final decision rests with the advisory group and the authorities.
