The UK is ready to advance with using the total value of seized Russian assets to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be implemented in strong partnership with the United States.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had only been drawn from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state assets to end the war.

He stated that more sanctions over the next period would heighten the tension on Russia.

This announcement comes after EU leaders met in the Danish capital recently to consider employing immobilized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged international partners to take or otherwise use immobilized Russia's assets, based on news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russia's holdings in the EU is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive aerial attacks all over the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
